Is HashShot a subscription?
No. You pay $25 once and the app is yours. The price includes a year of updates. After that you can add another year of updates for $19, or simply keep using the version you have.
What happens when my year of updates ends?
Nothing stops working. Every feature of your version keeps working for good. You only stop receiving new versions until you renew.
Does HashShot upload my screenshots or recordings?
No. Captures, recordings, extracted text and history stay in your own Library folder. HashShot only contacts our server to activate your license and to check for updates. Details are in the privacy policy.
How many Macs can I use it on?
One license works on one Mac at a time. When you get a new Mac, activate it there and choose Move here, or deactivate the old Mac in Settings, About.
Which Macs does it run on?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Recording your microphone needs macOS 15 Sequoia or later.
Which AI apps can use HashShot?
Any app that supports MCP, the open standard for AI tools, including Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Cursor and VS Code. HashShot connects them with one click and asks your permission before an AI records or captures.
